Driven by the national "dual carbon" strategy and the demand for resource utilization of electronic waste, Jiangxi Province has issued the Implementation Plan for Promoting the Recycling and Circular Utilization of Waste Products and Equipment, which requires increasing the application of new resource utilization technologies and improving the recycling volume of major renewable resources by 2027. In response to this policy, Jiangxi Mingxin Metallurgical Equipment Co., Ltd. has upgraded the wet process of its 8,000-ton annual waste circuit board treatment project (launched in 2018) to a dry physical crushing and sorting system, addressing the issues of high water consumption, high wastewater treatment costs, and easy secondary pollution associated with traditional wet processes.
Jiangxi Mingxin's dry crushing and recycling system adopts a "physical crushing + multi-stage sorting" process, establishing a recycling workflow through nitrogen-protected crushing and intelligent sorting technologies. In the crushing stage, circuit boards are processed to a particle size of less than 2 cm in an inert gas environment. The sorting stage combines vibrating screens, magnetic separation, air separation, and eddy current separation, achieving a recovery rate of over 95% and a purity of 98% for metals such as copper and aluminum. The system is equipped with a fully enclosed negative-pressure dust collection device and a four-stage exhaust gas treatment unit, with dust emission concentration ≤ 10 mg/m³ and non-methane total hydrocarbon emission ≤ 20 mg/m³. Meanwhile, intelligent monitoring ensures production safety. Compared with the wet process, it reduces wastewater discharge by approximately 50,000 tons per year and lowers treatment costs by more than 30%.
Based on an annual treatment capacity of 8,000 tons of waste circuit boards, the system can recover about 1,000 tons of metals such as copper and aluminum, reduce primary mineral mining by 50,000 tons, and save 200,000 tons of water resources. The annual output value of recycled metals reaches tens of millions of yuan, with an investment payback period of less than 2 years. The Jiangxi Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment stated that this technology meets environmental protection standards, reduces the amount of solid waste landfill, and provides support for the construction of a "zero-waste city" in the region. Currently, Jiangxi Mingxin has laid the foundation for expanding its treatment scale, and its technological practice provides a reference path for the electronic waste recycling industry.
